Mu Iota Upsilon Sorority, Incorporated, Gamma Chapter, was founded at SUNY New Paltz on November 16, 2012. Mu Iota Upsilon was originally founded at SUNY Delhi College of Technology on May 2, 1999. We became Incorporated on January 20, 2017. We came to SUNY New Paltz with the same morals and values as our sisters in SUNY Delhi. Our name comes from "Las Mujeres Indiginas Unidas" in Spanish, which translates to "Indigenous Women United" in English. As a multicultural sorority, we strive to be as diverse as possible. Our sisters are from all different places and from all different backgrounds, yet we come together as one. We are an off-campus based sorority.
